2026 Army AFT (ACFT) Standards

The U.S. Army’s Army Fitness Test (AFT) replaced the ACFT on June 1, 2025, with different standards for combat versus general roles. Combat roles require a sex-neutral, age-normed standard with a minimum 60 points per event and a 350 total score, while general roles use sex- and age-normed scoring with a minimum of 60 points per event and a 300 total score. The AFT events are the 3 Repetition Maximum Deadlift, Hand-Release Push-Up, Sprint-Drag-Carry, Plank, and the Two-Mile Run.

Key Changes

The ACFT was replaced by the AFT as the official fitness test on June 1, 2025.

There are distinct standards for combat-related roles and non-combat roles.

Combat Military Occupational Specialties (MOS) have a single, sex-neutral, and age-normed standard.

The AFT includes five events: 3 Repetition Maximum Deadlift (MDL), Hand-Release Push-Up (HRP), Sprint-Drag-Carry (SDC), Plank (PLK), and the Two-Mile Run (2MR).

Soldiers must score at least 60 points in each event to pass.

Soldiers scoring 465 points or higher on the AFT are exempt from body fat standards.

AFT Events

  1. 3 Repetition Maximum Deadlift (MDL): Lift the maximum weight possible three times.
  2. Hand-Release Push-Up (HRP): Complete as many hand-release push-ups as possible in two minutes.
  3. Sprint-Drag-Carry (SDC): Complete five 50-meter shuttles, including sprints, a drag, a lateral, and a carry with a sled and kettlebells.
  4. Plank (PLK): Maintain a proper plank position for as long as possible.
  5. Two-Mile Run (2MR): Run a two-mile distance on a generally flat course
